All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Lance Lysowski of the News notes that the Sabres and their ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones, have mutually ended their afilliation.
So Buffalo's seeking a new affiliate.

Reading NHL rumors a lot. I guess I should be happy that the Sabres don't show up in them often. That means the powers at be feel pretty good about what they have and aren't feeling pressured into making desperate moves.
They signed Jack Johnson. If they get a good player in the draft and pulled off a UPL for Hellebuyck trade, I'd be stoked for the upcoming season. Heck, I'm stoked about it anyway.
Still want them to get a Jay McKee clone for the back end. Don't know that Johnson is that.
Word is the Sabres are kicking around on the Canes Pesce.
I know The Score had a push alert on that matter.
If the opportunity presents itself(and the details work itself out), you make that trade.

The Buffalo Sabres have had a busy Tuesday of re-signing their own players. First it was forward Zemgus Girgensons, and then it was forward Lukas Rousek, who inks a two-year deal with an average annual value of $775,000. Zach Jones has more:
Jost, Hinostroza and Clague all had plenty of time to shine and they didn't. Clague might have a place in the NHL as a 7th defenseman. But neither Jost nor Hinostroza (who got the longer look) have done enough to stay. The Sabres have younger, better players ready to come up. When you can't stick to the roster of the NHL's all-time play-off no-show team, then you probably don't belong in the NHL. And that is what's going on with these three.
3rd line forwards have to be defensively responsible and still score at a somewhat regular pace.
Lukas Rousek will replace one of the above mentioned forwards....
The 24-year-old led the Rochester Americans in scoring during the regular season with 56 points (16 goals, 40 assists) and added 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists) during the Americans’ run to the Calder Cup Eastern Conference Final. He also played two games near the end of the year for the Sabres and scored his first NHL goal and an assist in two games.
Rousek was a 2019 sixth-round pick of the Sabres in 2019 and is expected to challenge for a bottom-six role with the Sabres at training camp, but even if he does not make the big club, the winger will likely be coming up and back the 90 from Rochester throughout the season as a callup when someone is injured.
